Welcome! I'm Becky Hadeed - podcaster, food blogger, and just maybe your guide for one-on-one photography mentoring. Let's see if we'd be a good fit!

First, a little about me:
I was a wedding photographer in the high-end DC market for almost 9 years. My sister-in-law, a natural businesswoman, was my partner and she taught me so much about systems and customer experience. We consistently raised prices for over 8 years and shot hundreds of weddings in sunny fields and beaches, modern and elegant hotels, and the some of the oldest and most spectacular cathedrals in the US - including being on the preferred vendor list for the National Cathedral in DC. We used mainly natural light during portrait and ceremonies and were very comfortable with off-camera flash, which we used at almost every single reception we ever photographed.

I always knew I wanted to stop working weekends when my oldest started high school. Our last wedding was October 26, 2019 - just two months after he started his freshman year.
As a lover of food, story, and extraordinary light, it was a natural, easy, and fun transition from the fast-paced, adrenaline-filled wedding days to the slower, more methodical genre of food photography. My style of food photography tends to be storytelling, focused on action, and celebrating extraordinary light.

Throughout both experiences, I've loved teaching and encouraging new photographers.

If you're looking for a photography mentor or one-on-one photography lessons, I'd love to help you! My version of photography mentoring is supportive, encouraging, and highly practical. As a former math teacher, I can deliver lessons that are methodical, easy to grasp, personalized, and full of as many tips and tricks as I can cram into an hour!
