Food Photography and Styling {with Lots of Real Life Examples!}

Food Photography
& Styling

With Lots of Real Word Examples!!

Welcome!

Hi I’m Becky Hadeed. You can read more about me and The Storied Recipe Podcast, but for now we’re going to skip over most of that. You’re here because you’re looking for food styling courses online! At the moment all you need to know is that I’m a story-telling food photographer. For 8 years, I worked as a wedding photographer, but now I specialize in taking storytelling photos of global dishes that are delicious, meaningful, and memorable, but difficult to style.

With years of experience shooting any and every recipe that my global podcast guests give me, I’m confident that I can help YOU learn food photography online for FREE.

I definitely believe there is a time and place to pay for photography education (in fact, I offer personalized help), but I truly don’t think paying for food photography or food styling education should be your first step. In fact, I never took a single one.

The truth is, the best food photographers have learned how to become their own teachers.

In fact, anyone who understands the basics of light can learn to take beautiful food photos of any dish by following the same three step process with every shoot. (BTW, if you don’t know the basics of light, I can help you with that too!) Below, I’ve included that three step process.

But first, here are three tiers of education that I offer. The first two are FREE and the last is personalized one-on-one mentoring with me. (But don’t start there!)

All Blog Posts

The first stop in your free food photography course is to read all the blog posts I’ve written. Sometimes I share general principles of food photography and sometimes I break down my process when creating a shot that were extra popular on Instagram. After my community encouraged me to take space in the podcast schedule for growth this year, I’ve committed to at least one new photography blog post every month! Make sure you subscribe to the newsletter for my Friday updates.

Downloadable Resources

Once you’ve browsed the blog posts. you can download these 3 free printable PDFs. Start with Food Photography Fundamentals. For fun, you’ll definitely want Shop Your Home For A Food Prop Shop (can you tell I believe in free stuff?!). Finally, download “How to Make Ugly Food Beautiful”.

One-on-One Mentoring

Finally, if you feel you’ve soaked up everything you can from these resources, and and you’re ready to go deeper, I’d love to support you. (Make sure you’ve also implemented my 3 step system for teaching yourself food photography, which I share below!)

I offer one-on-one mentoring, which I believe is a better value than many of the pre-packaged food styling courses you’ll find online. Many of those courses will teach you how to style in the teacher’s way, but not necessarily the way that works for you and your goals. I believe in totally personalized education, so I offer three options - portfolio review, a Food Photography Quick Start Package and The Premium Experience. You can learn lots more about those here.
