Welcome to The Storied Recipe Podcast, a podcast about food, culture, and love.

This recipe for Spring Dessert Charcuterie Board came from my podcast guest, came from my podcast guest, Daniela Wilson. Make sure you listen to her episode Rejection, Defection, and Redemption while you make a Spring Dessert Grazing Board!

Spring is the time to step outside after a long, cold winter and soak up the warmth and sunshine of the new season. It is also the perfect excuse to gather with friends and family, whether for baby showers, tea parties, picnics, Mother's Day brunch, Easter parties, or simple get togethers, and every one of those occasions calls for great appetizers. This charcuterie board celebrates the spring season with season fruits, dessert recipes, and nostalgic sweets.

How To Use This List

  • I'm defining Spring as March, April, and May in the Northern Hemisphere.
  • This list is a mix between store-bought food ideas, together with springtime recipes made with seasonal fruits.
  • Each recipe is formatted as the title of the recipe, followed by the "|" symbol and then the blog or person who it is from.
  • I've split this list into the following categories: Springtime Fruits, Spring Dessert Recipes, Old-fashioned Spring Chocolate and Sweets, and Spring Fruit Dips.
Strawberries and blueberries on spring dessert charcuterie board

Springtime Fruits

Confusingly, rhubarb is a vegetable, but in 1947 the USDA classified rhubarb as a fruit because tariffs were lower for fruits compared to vegetables. The more you know! The other seasonal springtime fruits on this list are vibrant, tart, and sweet and are the prefect fresh addition to your Spring charcuterie board.

  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Mulberries
  • Rhubarb
  • Apricots
  • Cherries
  • Kumquats

How to Make a Balanced Springtime Dessert Charcuterie Board

The typical formula for a charcuterie board is 3-3-3-3. Three cheeses, three meats, the starches, and three accompaniments. For this Springtime board, I would suggest following a similar pattern, so three chocolates/desserts, three "dippers" (such as hard cookies to scoop up the dips), three fruits/fruit desserts, and three dips.
