Welcome to The Storied Recipe, a podcast about food, culture, and love.
I've curated this list of Best Breads for Charcuterie Boards in conjunction with Episode Rejection, Defection, and Redemption, Czech Chleba, and How To Build The Perfect Fall Charcuterie Board from my podcast guest, Daniela Wilson.

Creating a charcuterie board isn't complete without selecting the right bread to accompany your meats and cheeses. Choosing your bread is just as important as selecting your cheeses and meats. Aim to have at least 3-5 bread options available to provide a variety of choices for your guests (for a large board). When pairing bread with meat and cheese, make sure that all the flavors complement each other well. Hopefully, this list will help you find the perfect bread to include on your boards that will be perfect for any gathering!

FAQ
How To Serve A French Baguette On A Charcuterie Board?
Blue Apron suggests:
- Slice the baguette into 8 equal slices
- Place on a baking sheet
- Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle salt and pepper to your liking
- Toast in the oven for 4 to 6 minutes, or until lightly browned.
Bread And Cheese Pairings
These are just suggestions and your perfect charcuterie board will fit your own personal preferences, but Entremont suggests pairing:
- French baguette with soft rind cheese such as Brie, Camembert, or Chaource to get a nice contrast of crunchy bread and creamy cheeses.
- Rye bread with blue cheese.
- Fig, raisin, or other sweet bread with blue cheese or strong cheeses such as Epoisses, Morbier, or Reblochon because the sweetness from the bread will balance the strong flavor profiles of the cheeses (I think this would be nice with fresh fruit as well to cut through some of the strong flavors).
- Multigrain breads with nuts are the perfect vessel with hard cheeses such as Beaufort or Comté.
- Olive bread with goat cheese offers a nice flavor blend for a more gourmet taste.
