Welcome, listeners, to a very special episode that is coming from a vulnerable and treasured place in my heart!

There's nothing typical about this episode - First, I’m releasing this episode as both audio and video. Second, this is a solo episode, and while I have a couple more solo episodes planned for 2022, there won’t be too many. The heart of this podcast is - and will remain - my guests and *their* stories. Third, this episode is not about food! In fact, there’s one little mention of food in here - see if you can find it.

However, I do believe this episode is in keeping with the idea of the podcast because it is *all* about story - my favorite story in the world. I've read and recited this story dozens and dozens of times, and each time, I am surprised by it. Each time, I'm filled with wonder, joy, and awe. And today I wanted to share my favorite story with you.

Have you listened to the Annual Christmas Pudding episode? If you haven’t, I hope you will - it’s actually the perfect episode, in my opinion - funny, nostalgic, just a tiny bit poignant, and a celebration of both family and friends. The guests are my old & dear friends Robert & Lisa Stewart. Well, right at the end of the episode, I mention to Robert that he actually gave me my most treasured Christmas tradition, when he mentioned something his mother did during his childhood. The funny thing is, when Robert and I talked, he didn't remember sharing this tradition with me - or even that his mom had done that. But for me, that little conversation 25 years ago gave me a tradition that is deeply, deeply meaningful and personal. I'll let you tune into the episode to hear the rest - it's a short one. Xoxo.

More About The Storied Recipe Podcast
The concept of The Storied Recipe is unique - every guest gives me a recipe that represents a cherished memory, custom, or person. I actually make, photograph, and share the recipe. During the interview, I discuss the memories and culture around the recipe, and also my experience (especially my mistakes and questions!) as I tried it. My listeners and I are a community that believes food is a love language unto itself. With every episode, we become better cooks and global citizens, more grateful for the gift of food, and we honor those that loved us through their cooking.
